Cell & Tissue Culture
Cell culture is a key tool in cellular and molecular biology. Cell culture is a process in which living cells and tissues are grown outside their natural environment.
Water is used in many steps in this process of cell culture. It’s the main component of culture and buffer preparation. The use of impure water can lead to sudden changes in the pH of the culture media and the production of toxic by-products.
Water for bacterial cell culture should be of Type II+ quality; mammalian cell culture requires Type I ultra pure water with high resistivity (> 18 MΩ.cm) and essentially free from bacteria, endotoxins, and other contaminants.
